In an apartment you rarely control the building's orientation or structure. That makes the period before purchase the most useful time to look at Vastu considerations.
Things worth reviewing
- Main entrance direction. Which way the door faces, and how the approach corridor is arranged.
- Layout of rooms. Where the kitchen, bedrooms and living area fall within the plan.
- Light and ventilation. Practical qualities that matter regardless of tradition.
- Floor and surroundings. What lies around and above the unit, and how the building is approached.
Keep it proportionate
No unit is perfect on every point. A useful assessment explains which observations are significant, which are minor, and which can be addressed through placement and use of rooms rather than structural change.
Vastu is one input among many. Price, location, legal clearances, structural soundness and budget deserve equal weight, and an architect or engineer should be consulted on structural questions.
