How to Evaluate a Vastu Consultation: What Good Looks Like
8 September 2026
After a consultation, it helps to ask whether it gave you something you can use. These questions apply whoever you consult.
Signs of a useful consultation
- Your own situation was asked about, rather than a standard script being read out.
- The reasoning was explained: what was observed, and why it matters within the method used.
- Observations were ranked by importance, with minor points identified as minor.
- Options ranged from simple (changing how a room is used) to larger (structural change), with the trade-offs stated.
- You received the advice in writing, so you can review it with your architect or family.
- You were told plainly that the decision is yours.
Signs to be cautious
- Fear-based language or urgency.
- A single expensive remedy offered as the answer to everything.
- Claims that a health, financial or relationship outcome is certain.
- Advice that would compromise structural safety, fire safety or legal approvals.
Vastu is a traditional framework, not a substitute for engineering, legal or medical advice. A responsible practitioner will say so.
